A new parish was formed by several individual church members who combined for the purpose of building a new Meeting House.  The church was built in 1843 and the dedication of this new Meeting House was held on September 28, 1843.  It was known as the Harpswell Centre Congregational Church.  

The church's first pastor, Rev. Elijah Kellogg, was called on April 25, 1844.  In 1901, the Harpswell Centre Congregational Church was renamed the "Elijah Kellogg Church, Congregational" in honor of Rev. Elijah Kellogg.
