About The Event

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We would like to invite you to our Spring Meeting of Churches, which will be hosted at the East Orrington Congregational Church. We are excited to welcome you to our beautiful church and to gather together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Spring Meeting of Churches will take place on April 29th from 8 am to 2 pm and will include a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship. We will also have guest speakers who will share their insights on various topics relevant to our ministries.

This gathering is an opportunity for us to come together, share our experiences, and encourage one another as we seek to fulfill our calling as the body of Christ. We believe that through our collective efforts, we can better serve our communities and bring glory to God's name.

We will provide some light breakfast foods, as well as a sit down lunch while we host the Spring business meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at our Spring Meeting of Churches and to the blessings that God has in store for us as we gather together.

Blessings in Christ, Carrie Harriman On behalf of East Orrington Congregational Church

Dear Pastors of the Congregational Christian Council of Maine.

It was my joy to worship God and be with you at the Spring Meeting today, April 29, 2023 at East Orrington Congregational Church.  Before I go to bed, I would like to congratulate le Rev. Carl B. Schreiber, Jr. and our Moderator, the Rev. Fred Fortier for an excellent organization of today’s meeting.  I hope they will keep with the same format when we meet at our church here in Machiasport.

I also thank Pastor Fortier for presenting the project of sending good theological books: commentaries, Encyclopedias, dictionaries,  classical theological books to Cameroon.

The Presbyterian Church of Cameroon has around 1,000 ministers now.  They have three Biblical Schools of Theology: L'Université Protestante de l'Afrique Centrale à Yaoundé, l’Institut Supérieur de Théologie Protestante de Bibia, Lolodorf, la Faculté des Sciences Sociale, Départment de Théologie de Foulassi.  The University has a graduate program up to the Doctoral levels; The two other schools deliver the Bachelor and the Mastor’s of Theology.  The problem these Schools of Theology face is poor libraries; you can also understand that pastors have no books.  This project will make a big difference.

The address to ship your books in Maryland is:

Mr. Happy Georges

111 Elmcroft square

Rockville, MD 20850

In order to ship these books to Cameroon, we will buy empty barrels, fill them up with books and ship them to Douala. The Head of the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon will take charge of the books. We will receive correspondence from Schools.

In order to ship a barrel from Maryland to Douala, we will need:

$50.00to buy an empty barrel which will be filled with books.

$300.00for the lock and fees for shipment of a barrel to Douala.

If your church sends books, please, send money for the shipment to me.

I also hope that some may just want to help with the shipment.  My physical address is:

The Rev. François Akoa-Mongo

396 Port Road

Machiasport, ME 04655

May the Lord bless you,
